We’ve always wondered if there was life beyond Earth. What if there’s another planet that can support life? If so, are they human or something else? Well, aliens strike again in Battle: Los Angeles from producer Neal Moritz who gave us The Fast and The Furious franchise. Battle: Los Angeles stars Aaron Eckhart, who has been in films such as The Dark Knight, The Core, and Paycheck. Blue Bloods Bridget Moynahan and Avatar’s Michelle Rodriguez also star in the film. Aliens have invaded Earth, one of the cities being Los Angeles. So, Eckhart and his team of Marines have been deployed to Santa Monica to rescue civilians and get them to safety while trying to fend off the aliens at all costs.
The alien invasion genre has been overdone in some cases, most recently with the failure of Skyline, which didn’t make much money at the box office. However, this was quite a surprise if you ask me. With non-stop action and great special effects, this is the best film of its kind since Independence Day of 1996, and that’s saying something. However, it doesn’t focus so much on the characters or why the aliens have landed, its still a ride that’s worth taking. You really feel like you’re a part of the action in this movie. It moves along a steady pace and will keep you on the edge of your seat, literally. I give Battle: Los Angeles nine out of ten here. What do you think about this movie? Was this the right time for a film like this? Did the producers add something to the genre? Send us an e-mail and let your voice be heard.
