For the last few years, Liam Neeson’s star has been on the rise. After the tragic death of his wife Natasha, he has delved back into work in full force. In 2009, his film Taken was considered to be one of his best performances ever. Now, here comes his latest film Unknown.

Neeson plays Dr. Martin Harris who is traveling with his wife, Liz, played by January Jones of AMC’s Mad Men. They go to Berlin for a biotechnology summit. After they arrive at the hotel, Martin goes back to the airport to retrieve his briefcase. While on his way back, the cab crashes into a river and Martin hits his head, knocking him unconscious. Four days later he wakes up in the hospital and comes out of his coma. He then goes back to the hotel to reunite with his wife. Suddenly Liz says she doesn’t know him. Martin tries to piece together what happened before the accident so he can prove who he is. He eventually finds the cab driver Gina, who was with him when he crashed, played Diane Kruger of National Treasure. With her help, he tries to get his wife and identity back, before it is too late.

This was not better than Taken, but it was still a good action-thriller with a surprise ending that pays off. However, I did have a few Taken and Bourne Identity flashbacks. The pace of the film was also slow in the middle at some points. With all that being said, I give Unknown seven out of ten. What do you think about this movie? Has Liam Neeson done it again? Was this better than his last few roles? Send us an e-mail and let your voice be heard.
