For the FOX network, Mondays are a tough night for ratings with the failure of the short lived Lone Star , which critics thought would be an instant hit. With the middle part of the season underway, they needed a fresh start. Now comes The Chicago Code from the creator of The Shield Shawn Ryan. It centers on the cops who keep the Windy City safe while bringing down corruption. It stars Jennifer Beals as Superintendent Teresa Colvin, which means all the cops in Chicago answer to her. Jason Clarke is Det. Jarek Wysocki, Colvin’s former partner, as well as Delroy Lindo, who plays Alderman Ronin Gibbons. Also, Matt Lauria from NBC’s Friday Night Lights stars as Caleb Rivers, Jarek’s new partner. Colvin recruits Wysocki to join her special task force to bring down Gibbons, whom she believes is corrupt himself.

After watching the pilot, I was quite impressed at how compelling this show is. It’s fast-paced and totally gripping. You can’t help but be drawn in to this great crime drama. I give The Chicago Code four stars out of four. Mondays on FOX are great again, in my opinion. What do you think about The Chicago Code ? Did they cast the right people? Is this Shawn Ryan’s next Shield ? Send us an e-mail, it’s your show: ryan@therpmshow.com. All-new episodes air Mondays at 9/8c on FOX.

The Chicago Code is by far the most awesome thing to hit TV in a very long time… I never stay up past 9pm to watch anything. I can’t really say anything more than what Ryan said… Four out of four stars for sure!
