We don’t hear too much about the SyFy network, but, this season they may have another hit on their hands. Based on the British series of the same name, SyFy has their own version of Being Human, starring Sam Witwer from Smallville and Sam Huntington from Superman Returns . Now, we have heard stories about vampires and werewolves before, but not like this. Witwer is the vampire Aidan, and Huntington is Josh the werewolf. They both work as nurses at a hospital and are trying to live a normal life. It is hard to do that when Aidan can’t stop drinking human blood and Josh turns into a werewolf every month.
They make the decision to stop doing certain things and buy a townhouse to live as roommates so they can convince themselves and others that they are just normal guys. When they move into the house they see a ghost living there named Sally. She can’t seem to leave the house or remember how she died. One of the reasons is that it’s the house she and her fiancé were living in.
After a period of pilots coming and going, this is one of the best shows I have seen on SyFy in quite some time. Witwer and Huntington are natural leads for this show. This one has it all: adventure, suspense and comedy. I give Being Human three and a half out of four possible stars. What do you think about Being Human ? Did SyFy get it right?
